FAQ: real questions from real people
1. Getting started
Do I need a heat press?
Yes. You need access to a heat press if you want your transfer to actually stick and last. You do not have to own one, though — many local t-shirt shops or sporting goods stores can press transfers for a small fee. Our transfers press in about 15 seconds.
Can I use a regular icon?
We wouldn’t. Household irons are great for wrinkled shirts, not professional transfers. They do not give consistent heat or pressure, which can lead to weak or uneven results.
Where can I buy a heat press?
You can buy one online or at craft and printing supply stores. A basic flat heat press is enough to get started — no need to buy the spaceship version.
What temperature do I press at?
Our transfers press at around 320°F. Every order includes simple instructions, so you are not left guessing and praying.
How long do I press the transfer?
Our transfers press in about 15 seconds. Press. Peel. Done. That’s it.
Is it hot peel or cold peel?
Our transfers are hot peel, but always follow the instructions included with your order. The instructions know things.
2. artwork & design
What file types do you accept?
We accept PNG, JPG, JPEG, and PDF files. Keep it simple. We like simple.
What if my artwork looks terrible?
Send it anyway. We’ll review it and let you know if it needs cleanup before printing. We’ve seen worse, promise.
Can you create artwork for me?
Yes. Send your idea, text, colors, or inspiration, and we can help turn it into a print-ready design instead of a “my cousin made this in Paint” situation.
What if I only have a screenshot or a photo?
That works. Upload it, and we’ll check it. If it needs improvement, we’ll let you know the best next step.
How many revisions are included?
We include reasonable revisions to help get your design ready before printing. Reasonable is the key word here.
What happens if I keep changing my mind?
That’s okay, but frequent changes can delay your order. Clear notes help us move faster, and everyone stays happier.
We'll stick with you.. even if your cousin in Costa Rica takes 3 days
3. shirt questions
What shirts work best?
Cotton and cotton-blend shirts are the sweet spot. Smooth, clean shirts give the best results. Dirty, wrinkled mystery fabric? Not our favorite.
Can I use dark shirts?
Yes. PressReady™ transfers work great on dark shirts with bold, vibrant results.
Why do dark shirts cost more?
Dark shirts need extra coverage, so the design stays bright, bold, and visible. Basically, dark shirts require a little more drama.
Can I buy shirts from you?
Yes. You can order shirts from us, or you can use your own.
Can I use my own shirts?
Absolutely. Just make sure they are clean and suitable for heat pressing. Please do not make us fight your fabric.
4. durability & quality
How long do these last?
When applied and washed correctly, PressReady™ transfers are made to last through regular wear and washing. Basically, treat the shirt right and it won’t betray you.
Do they crack or peel?
They won’t crack or peel when pressed correctly and cared for properly. Follow the instructions and don’t freestyle the process.
How should I wash them?
Turn garments inside out. Wash cold or warm. Avoid bleach and high heat drying. Your shirt is not a casserole.
Why are PressReady™ transfers better?
No setup fees. No screen fees. No minimums. Just high-quality transfers you can press yourself without paying print shop prices.
These transfers are built to last. Like, seriously. Probably longer than your gym membership.
5. orders & shipping
How fast do you ship?
Orders ship within 72 hours or less after artwork approval. Fast, because waiting forever is rude.
Do you offer rush service?
Rush options depend on the order. Contact us before ordering, and we’ll see if we can pull off a little production magic.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimums. Order 1 or order 1,000. We don’t judge the size of your dream.
Can I reorder the same design later?
Yes. We keep your artwork on file, so reorders are quick, easy, and way less annoying.
Do you save my artworks?
Yes. We can keep your artwork on file for future reorders, because uploading the same thing 12 times is annoying.
Most orders ship in 72 HOURS or less!
6. Business / Side Hustle
Can I sell shirts using these?
Yes. PressReady™ transfers are perfect for side hustles, small businesses, events, teams, and apparel brands — basically if you’re trying to make money from shirts, you’re in the right place.
Can schools or fundraisers use these?
Absolutely. They’re perfect for schools, teams, clubs, fundraisers, and events — without getting wrecked by setup fees.
Can local print shops press these for me?
Yes. Any shop with a heat press can apply them for you. They press, you save. Cute little system.
Do you offer bulk pricing?
Yes. Bigger orders get better pricing, so you can keep more of the money. We love that for you.
We love entrepreneurs, hustlers, and anyone trying to build something awesome.
7. the big picture
Why are traditional print shops so expensive?
Traditional printing often includes setup fees, screens, labor, overhead, and minimum orders. That can make small orders expensive fast. Very “surprise, your budget is gone.”
What makes PressReady™ different?
PressReady™ skips the expensive setup. We print the transfers, ship them to you, and you press them yourself. Simple. Affordable. Not dramatic.
What is your philosophy / mission?
To make custom shirts simple, affordable, and accessible for everyone — small businesses, teams, schools, creators, and everyday people who are tired of overpaying.
